Why We Think The Way We Do And How To Change It

Mastering the Mind: Essential Foundations for Transformation

ATTENTION: Seekers, enquirers, mentors, coaches, and their clients

📆 Weekly Wednesdays from: September 4-November 13, 2024 📆

In this series of workshops, we will review each chapter of Why We Think The Way We Do And How To Change It (Clink Street, 2017) and discuss how this manual for the mind can support seekers, enquirers, mentors, coaches, and their clients.

With the dawn (rapidly heading towards high-noon) of the psychedelic renaissance, and the surge in interest in consciousness expansion, we will extend the conversation to explore how the mind-manual fundamentals covered in this book can be applied to understanding ourselves as multidimensional beings.

At TWRR we ascribe to the holographic nature of reality, and on this premise we can be assured that the mind-mechanics of this plane must apply to all others!

For more than thirty years, Sam Kogan’s methodical study of characters in dramatic literature and his understanding of how actors create characters led to insights into how individuals form their human ‘personality’ and think the way they do.

Thus, The Science of Acting, which I ghostwrote, gave birth to Why We Think The Way We Do And How To Change It, co-authored with Thomas Garvey.

Why We Think The Way We Do And How To Change It delivers exactly what it promises by clearly explaining our thought processes within consensus reality, while also touching on dreams, creativity, imagination, and inspiration.

However, since its publication seven years ago, the world has transformed significantly, and so too has the way we explore ourselves; a discussion introduced in The Little Book of Self-Enquiry: Ancient Keys for a Modern Age.

Ever-increasing numbers of people now report:

  • Seeing ‘signs’

  • Noticing synchronicities

  • Having precognitive insights

  • Feeling ‘connected’ after realizing the pain of being chasm-ically disconnected

  • Finding that old lifestyles (typically rat-race driven) no longer satisfy, work, or ‘resonate’

  • Developing a growing interest in The Shift, psychedelics, non-ordinary states of consciousness, starseeds, witchcraft, ancient aliens, sacred sites, ascended masters, spiritual guides, past lives, in-between lives, ancestral karma, and family constellations—just to name a few topics now moving closer to mainstream interest

We know this is the beginning of a new era, next will be to see what we do with it!

As we continue to sift through centuries of accumulated thought debris that brought us here, we will uncover the truth that there is, and always has been more to this ‘reality’ [knuckle-knock on table] than our everyday experiences, and more to who we are than who we see in the mirror [gentle tap on the side of one’s head]!

Caution is necessary, though, to avoid getting so carried away with our excitement at exploring new worlds that we set off aimlessly and get lost in a psychedelic labyrinth of rabbit holes.

Instead, we need:

- Clear directions

- Maps and signposts

- Clarified purpose for our journey

- And always be able to find our path back to consciously integrate and embody our insights

To be able to clearly navigate all dimensions of our mind means to use this new awareness for our wellbeing and ongoing growth and evolution, as we continue to:

 - Correct errors and distortions of the past

 - Know why we are doing what we are doing and why

 - Know what we need to do next and why

 - Contribute to the visions that all beings, their descendants and this planet to flourish well into the future

As we explore the successive chapters of Why We Think The Way We Do And How To Change It, we'll discuss how its principles can be applied to fully embodying all that we are, as far as the third eye can see!

I look forward to you joining us!

Amazon reviews

for Why We Think The Way We Do And How To Change

This is a great book on how the mind works

“This is a great book on how the mind works, what we can do to change our thinking, and hence live a more fulfilling life. I love the way it is broken into two main parts: first we learn how thinking works, and why we often create invisible purposes that don't serve us, and seemingly contradict our visible goals. In part two, the book offers amazing tools that can help us transform our thoughts and hence our life.”

The one self help book to rule them all

“There are many good books and recommendations I could make, they filled me with ideas and aspirations. This book gives a greater insight as to why our behaviours are obvious to others and hidden from ourselves. I can better understand others, but do I really understand myself? Do you? If you generalise, maybe about people leaving reviews for example, then you are in need of this book.”

Amazing book

“I'm only half way but it made such a difference already. I will definitely let it set in and read it again.”

Changed my Life

“I was introduced to this book in 2017. It has been something I’ve referred back to again and again since. It’s like a manual — to understand the operating system that is your own consciousness. Truly one of the most helpful tools I’ve come across along my self development journey.”

Authentic, accessible, empowering - with a good sense of humour!

“If you really do want to know why you think the way you do and how to change it then I highly recommend this book. It encourages one to acknowledge and take responsibility for ones life. It’s time to see and cut the bulls*** and get on with living a fulfilling life - this book will grant you exactly that (should you choose to do so...)”
